Some satisfactory analysis here, I particularly like your comment about the darkness! Note the way the screen shot gives Harlen the male character prominence (two thirds of the frame) whilst Louise occupies only one third. Nevertheless the eye is drawn to her because she is holding the gun, thus challenging gender stereotyping in Hollywood films.
